What a great fun we had last week playing soccer. We learnt how to kick and dribble the ball and some of us even scored the goals!! Go 2a!!
What a great trip to the zoo we had! thanks to all mums who came with us to make it possible and so enjoyable!
What a fantastic year one assembly we had! We looked awesome in our animal costumes and masks! Here are the some photos of us. Congratulations to Connor , Hayley and Lucas who got the special certificates for their hard work.
We learnt a lot about reptiles. We watched you tube facts about them, wrote stories, read books and learnt poems. We also did beautiful art for our class and corridor display. Here are out turtles.
WELCOME TO TERM 2
Landscape Learning topics for this term are KITCHEN CHEMISTRY and MOVE and GROOVE We are really enjoying having a science trolley in our class and doing different experiments using things we can find in the kitchen.. We can even do it at home (with your help of course) We made a volcano and blew bubbles We made jelly and popcorn We experimented with eggs in the water and the vinegar and we made magic milk Here are some photos
We made jelly on Thursday. First we put in the jelly crystals. There were raspberry and strawberry flavors. Then we poured hot water and mixed them in the bowl. We let it cool down for a day. It tasted like lollies.

Guess what we did last Friday? We made popcorn. It was fun! We shared it out with everyone. We ate it all up. It tasted delicious. We put the corn kennels into the popcorn machine. When the seeds got hot, they exploded!

On Friday we went to the hall to watch the SCIENCE SHOW. It was awesome! We saw the biggest bubbles EVER! We also learnt a lot about gravity and different gases. We are going to repeat some of the experiments in our classroom.
In week 3 our class was doing ART with Mrs Murray. Look at our beautiful flowers..
What a fun day we had today..we all came to school dressed as our favorite book character. Here we are..

Welcome to Term 3
Out first Landscape Learning topic is Science based and is entitled "Day and Night". The children will be exploring how night and day occurs and the formation of shadows. The second LL topic is a technology one.
Last week we had a visitor who took us by a surprise..Ronald MacDonald! he talked about the road safety and also how to put the seat belt correctly.
Here is Rya's story about his visit. Yesterday Ronald Mac Donald came to our school. He put on a show. We loved it. He was hilarious. He sang songs and he lost his red sock. Then, at the end, he found it!. My favorite part was when he pretended to cry . We all really enjoyed it!
What are great cross country race we had! Well done Blake Mitchell for coming first ! you made us very proud!!
We were very lucky to have a soccer session with "Inflatable team" . We had so much fun! They will be in our school every afternoon if you want to join for an hour!
Welcome to Term 4
The topics for our Landscape Learning Learning are : Science-Circle of Life (we will cover life cycle of plants, butterflies, frogs and chickens) Technology- Photo frames, Health- Summer Health and Water Safety The important dates are Gala- 29th of October, Athletics- 3rd of November 1.15 pm, Grandparents day and Year 1 school assembly- 18th of November. Swimming - 30.11.16-9.12.16. School will finish on 15th December at 12.30 pm.
What a successful Gala day we had! It was sunny and warm and our school raised around 40.000 for our needs! Thank you for your help and generous contribution!
We had a lot of fun on our Athletics Day! So many great activities to participate! Congratulations to Blake Mitchell, Hayley and Jun for representing our class in sprint finals. Well done!
We had Art last week with Mrs Murray. Look at our Taniwha... The look awesome!
